WHY SUPPORT THE CONFLICT MINERALS TRADE ACT

This fall, the RAISE Hope for Congo campaign is launching a series of fundraisers for its Congolese partners operating in eastern Congo. Every other month, we will spotlight one of our partner organizations and hold a benefit on their behalf here in Washington D.C.

The conflict in eastern Congo, the deadliest in the world since World War II, is being fueled by a multi-million dollar trade in minerals that go into our electronic products from cell phones to digital cameras.

What is the Congo Challenge?

The Congo Challenge is a three month organized effort to build the movement for peace in Congo by challenging activists to raise awareness about the crisis (March), raise their voice for change (April), and raise the profile of the deadliest war in the world (May).
