RAISE Hope for Congo - February 19, 2009

Dear Friends,

Since the campaign launched last fall, I've been all over the country talking about the crisis in Congo. Without fail, I always hear the question, "what can I do?"

With this pervasive question in mind, the RAISE Hope for Congo campaign is kicking off a three month "Congo Challenge." Each month, you'll get a menu of actions that you can take to make an impact. Whether you only have five minutes or five hours, there's an option for you.

RAISE Hope for Congo - February 4, 2009

Dear Friends,

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is at yet another dangerous crossroads. The unexpected cooperation between the governments of Congo and Rwanda has resulted in the arrest of Congolese rebel leader Laurent Nkunda, as well as the deployment of an estimated 4,000 Rwandan soldiers into eastern Congo for military operations against the FDLR, the Hutu rebel group with links to the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
